nest doorbell

So many issues! Nest doorbell doesn’t have a ring sound for the alert on your phone! What’s the point in that. Meant to be at the forefront of technology. Please don’t tell me to go to notifications and ensure sounds is on etc . I’ve covered those bases 😀 Reality is a doorbell that doesn’t alert you like the amazon one would

It buffers if you are at work so you get the banner (no sound) alert but by the time you connect to say leave it on the doorstep. they’ve gone!

It has a delay on the ring to the nest in the house, we can’t change the ring settings so again if someone’s impatient we miss them.

We only got nest doorbell  thinking it would be the best because we have the nest thermostat that was a mistake on both counts. Neither one of them are intuitive or really any good at delivering what they should. Google , this is an embarrassing product requiring significant modification . Unless anyone can tell me something fundamental I’m missing!

Hi DnLog,

Oh no! i'm sorry to hear that your Nest Doorbell does not alert your phone when it rings. Let's sort this out. Please follow these:

  1. Make sure that the notifications for your doorbell are enabled in the app. Check the settings in the app to ensure that you have enabled notifications for doorbell rings and motion detection.
  2. Check that the volume on your phone is turned up and not on silent mode. It's possible that you have accidentally turned down the volume on your phone or put it on silent mode.
  3. Check that your phone is not set to Do Not Disturb mode. This mode silences all notifications and may be preventing you from receiving sound notifications for your doorbell.
  4. For iPhone, check that the notifications are set to "Sounds" instead of "None" or "Banner." You can check this in the Settings app under "Notifications."
  5. If none of these steps work, try restarting your phone and your doorbell. This may help to reset any issues that are preventing sound notifications from coming through.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Zoe
