This issue has been going on for months but the thread previously describing it has been locked.
I am getting exactly the same issue as described in the original thread . Basically, I cannot turn on my nest floodlight using voice command `turn on floodlight` via my nest home hub max, or nest mini. I can however click on the floodlight icon on the home control section of my home hub max to switch the light off and on. I can also use the voice assistant on my pixel phone to operate the light.
The issue is nothing to do with connectivity. It is only failing to work when using the voice assistant on the home hub max or nest mini. I have done all the usual troubleshooting eg resetting devices, deleting the flood light from my home, but to no avail.
I am aware from the previous thread that this is a known issue (and a pretty big one too) and I am therefore surprised that it has not been fixed in the last 6 months.
In addition, there is a possibly associated issue where, although I can use my phones google assistant to switch the floodlight off and on, I cannot tell it to switch it on for eg. 1 minute. It responds by saying `okay`, switches the light on, but does not switch it off again after 1 minute. This functionality works fine for all my other lights in the house.

Hi alternatevista,
Thank you for posting here in the community. I'm sorry that the voice command doesn't work with your Nest camera. This could be frustrating since this is the only option that doesn't work. Help's here.
To isolate the issue, please make sure to use the correct voice command sentence. Here are a few examples:
Start the stream: "Show [camera name]"
"What’s on [camera name]?"
"[Camera name] on [display device name]"
"Play [camera name] on [display device name]"
"Show [camera name] on [display device name]"
Stop the stream: "Stop [display device name]"
Another important recommendation is that if you have wired Nest cameras, they should stream live video for up to 12 hours. If the Nest camera is on battery power (if applicable), it can only stream for up to 5 minutes. Also, if you have a Nest Hub Max, make sure that the display is in privacy mode. If yes, please toggle the physical switch off from the back of the Nest display.
Let me know if you need more assistance.
Regards,
Byron

Hi Byron
Thanks for your reply. It is not the camera feed that I am having problem with. It is the light on the flood light that does not respond to the command to switch on on my nest hub max or nest mini. The camera works fine.

Hi alternatevista,
Thank you for posting. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. Let me check other options.
Please try to reboot your Nest Hub and restart your Nest Camera with Floodlight to refresh the connection between them.
Keep me posted. I'll look forward to your response.
Regards,
Byron
