nest iq needs removing, how? its also the only one in my nest.com account

Kia ora,

I purchased 2x nest cam's. added them both indoors with stands, they show up in my google home and seem to work great.

the nest iq camera i had previously is poked. so it needs to go.

- how do i remove the nest iq camera? where from? i dont see a remove device on any of the 3-dot menus

- in nest.com the nest iq camera is still listed. in google home all 3 are listed. if i remove it, will that stuff up my subscription? currently at Nest Aware. (upgraded i presume from the original nest.com content way back)

kapai. have a great week.

in the Google Home app there is no 'remove device' on the Nest IQ device.

@jaffanz

On our older Google Nest Outdoor Cameras, there is a "Remove camera" option at the bottom of the camera's Settings; the option is also available on home.nest.com. We cannot remove them using the Google Home app.

If you have the older, single-camera 1st Gen Nest Aware subscription on your older IQ camera, then I think removing it will end your subscription (and remove the camera's history as well).  You might have to contact Google Nest Support about the cancellation.  If you have the newer Nest Aware or Nest Aware Plus subscriptions, they apply to ALL cameras and doorbells in the same Google Nest "home/structure" on the same Google Account.

hi.

thanks for the information. i think i'll leave it as is for the moment then, perhaps looking as per the next post.

i would not want to screw-up a working subscription with the working devices. while it would be cleaner no-one looks forward going through a support exercise to remedy a 'gotcha' or historical tidy-up event.

all good. looks like i will be leaving the buggered item in my list. annoying but certainly not end of the world stuff.

Open the IQ camera, either by using the app on your phone or your PC. Select settings and scroll to the bottom and you'll see "Remove Camera'. Select that to delete the camera.

hi. thanks for that, found it now. however i wont remove in case it screws up my subscription and so on, as per the commentary above.

Hello everyone,

@jaffanz thanks for reaching out here in the Community. I'm dropping by to ensure that everything is covered here. To confirm, which Nest Aware subscription do you have? In case it's the 2nd gen Nest Aware, it won't affect your other Nest Cameras when you remove the Nest Camera IQ. Also, you're right on the spot when you say that by removing it, it will remove its history. Let us know if you have other questions in mind.

I appreciate the help, Badattitude and MplsCustomer.

Regards,
Emerson

I think it must be 2nd gen. not sure since it says nothing about the iteration in the subscription page. It simply offers an upgrade to "Nest Aware Plus". that does not discount both 1st & 2nd gen having that option though of course.

It must have been though based on your comment; i removed the camera. Thinking fckit why not. As you say I can still manage the 2x newer cameras via Google Home, my subscription details and configuration has all been retained from the nest.com view.

Benefit of course being the stuffed camera is gone.

thx for the conversation. its been helpful.
