there is no audio on live or recorded events on the outdoor google nest camera

You need enable your microphone- check your settings under ‘device options’

Hi - i have checked already microphone enabled - today i changed router so had to factory reset the camera and add back into google home - since then no sound but this did work previously i think!  I would really appreciate some help, ive followed all troubleshooting and cant get it to work Thanks Elaine

@ESG3121, I'm sorry to hear that but thanks for taking some steps beforehand. It looks like your audio recording isn’t turned on. If so, going over the steps here might help:

  1. Open the Home app .
  2. Touch and hold your device's tile.
  3. Tap Settings .
  4. Select Audio.
  5. Next to “Audio recording,” tap the switch to turn it on or off.

Hi thanks for this audio recording is already on. Is this camera just faulty then?   It was bought late last year so imagine there is some kind of warranty. Please let me know if there are any other ideas on what’s wrong?

Hey there,

 

Gotcha — let’s further check this. Do you have an Android or iPhone? When did the issue start? Also, have you tried checking it with another device? 
 

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can also try:
 

  1. Ensure that your phone isn’t on mute.
  2. Check the Google Home app permissions:
    • Go to the device’s Settings > Google Home > Permission, and make sure Microphone is enabled.
    • Test if the device’s microphone is working.
  3. Open the default voice recorder app or any other app that uses your device’s microphone and test the device’s microphone on the app.
  4. Check if the device is connected to a Bluetooth device that may be serving as the microphone.

Hi!

thank you so iPhone and that’s all working fine with sound. This started when I changed my home router has to remove the camera from the app and reconnect. I have 2 other indoor cameras same with them and they are working fine. 
I can’t find permissions on the app to check but checked everything else no luck. Did a talk and listen with the husband I can’t hear anything he’s says outside apart from a hiss noice. 
I think the microphone has somehow become faulty what do you think?
