I got stuck at the final step while setting up my Nest Cam (3rd Gen). I'm connected to Wi-Fi, but the update won't go through—it's just stuck at 0%

Hi @Yuuyigu,

Thank you for posting in the community. I understand you're experiencing an issue where your Nest Cam Indoor (wired, 3rd gen) update is stuck at 0% during the final setup step, even while connected to Wi-Fi. I'm happy to assist you.

To better understand the reason for the issue, please provide the information requested below:

  • Has the camera been previously paired?
  • What’s the color of the LED status light?
  • How far is the camera from the router?
  • Are there any other devices that experience issues with the Wi-Fi?
  • Are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near the device you want to pair?

Since the issue only occurs at the end of the setup when updating the camera, I recommend you perform a factory reset on your camera to properly start the setup process from scratch. Resetting all the settings and software of the camera may be helpful. Below you'll find the steps to factory reset your Nest Cam Indoor (wired, 3rd gen):

  1. Locate the reset hole on the bottom of the camera head. It’s between the power cord and the camera neck.
  2. Insert a paperclip, thumbtack or similar into the hole. Press and hold down.
    • At 10 seconds, the status light will blink yellow 4 times, and you’ll hear a countdown tone.
    • At 12 seconds, the status light will be solid yellow. When the camera begins to reset, you’ll hear a confirmation tone.
  3. Release the button once the countdown tone finishes. Your camera will restore to its factory settings.

Once the camera is properly reset, you can try to set it up again in the Google Home app.

Keep me posted.

Regards,

Anders
