Add additional soundbar/TV brands to Chromecast remote

Is there a way that we can request for additional brands/manufacturers to be added to the TV & soundbar list for control by the Chromecast remote? The remote recognizes my Soniq TV, but not my Bauhn soundbar (Bauhn isn't listed), and I haven't found another manufacturer in the list that tricks it into working.

Alternatively, if we can work out the universal remote codes for a device, is there a way we can manually set that up with the Chromecast remote?

You can send feedback to Google support, but I can't guarantee you that it will be added anytime soon. It is entirely up to Google if they want support certain device manufacturers.

Ussualy they offer support for the big names in the industry and well established in the consumer market.

I might do that, but failing that, has anyone discovered another soundbar brand that magically works with Bauhn?

You already have a Bauhn soundbar.

Don't worry too much about this remote issue. Your soundbar already has a remote and can be used just as well.

Look at it this way: your TV works, your Chromecast works and your soundbar work. So, relax, enjoy the movies and music, have some quality time relaxing and forget about controlling everything with just one device.

And here's another suggestion. You already have a built-in software remote remote on Google Home application to control the Chromecast device.

You can simply install an universal soundbar remote application on your phone and use the phone to control both the Chromecast device and the soundbar.

Oh I wasn't clear, I meant a soundbar brand that I can tell the Chromecast remote to use that happens to work for Bauhn as well. I understand that some people have managed to get their Bauhn TVs working with the Chromecast remote in a similar fashion, e.g. https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Chromecast/google-TV-can-t-find-Bauhn-TV-Model-ATV5##########... (which I see is also a @djtetei response!)

I know this is very much a first-world problem, but it is frustrating when you discover your magic all-in-one remote actually isn't...

You can try to contact Bauhn support team and simply ask them if they can help you with a compatible brand remote code.

Let me clarify another matter. The Chromecast voice remote is not an universal remote. It is Google decision what brands are supported and they never claimed that will support all devices.

If it work, it works. If not, you work with what you have.
