I have looked at every verified solution regarding this issue and have not found a straight answer. My question - does the TV, that says it has chromecast built in, have the ability to be added to a speaker group?
Do not advise I look at the steps to create a speaker group. I am well aware of the process. I have tried everything that has already been recommended as troubleshooting in the past and my conclusion is that nobody wants to say these TVs are not able to be added to speaker groups. It is not a part of their functionality and I need someone to simply say "your TV will never work as advertised" so I can stop trying to make it work.
If there is a way to make it work, I am willing to do anything short of buying another standalone chromecast for only casting audio in unison the rest of my speakers. I got the TV with chromecast built in under the assumption that it has a chromecast built in and will operate as such. I am not able to add it to any speaker groups, new or existing. 'Answers' from 'experts' I find on this forum and elsewhere all seem to say the same thing - "it's compatible, we promise" with a trail of unanswered comments saying that the solution provided did not work.
Yes or no - can a TV, regardless of brand, with chromecast built in, be added to a speaker group? This will save dozens of helpless people headaches in the future if they have a clear answer that their product will not work as intended. I am far from the only person seeking this answer.

The problem is with your TV. Chromecast Built-In needed to be updated to work with speaker groups. Most manufacturers pushed that update for their devices a long time ago. But it sounds like your TV's maker did not.
Contact them and ask if they have a schedule for when they are going to do the update.

Hey Nick_Koford,
Thanks for helping here
Good question! Currently, the compatible devices that can be added to the speaker group are below:
As an alternative, you can connect a Chromecast Audio on your TV's so you'll be able to add it on speaker group.

I did see the responses and found them very unsatisfactory. As far as I can tell, EVERY brand of TV manufacturer that makes a Google TV with chromecast built in cannot be added to a speaker group. Furthermore, the suggestion to get a chromecast audio to solve my issue, a product that has been long discontinued, is laughable. I have figured out my own workaround. For the people in the future with this issue, do not bother going down the rabbit hole trying to figure this out. I would be satisfied if someone just told me that this was not possible from the beginning.
