Ambient Mode/Freezing Chromecast to single photo

FiguringItOut

I am trying to get ambient mode to no longer show Google Photos, but just a single photo, maybe two. When I select "Google Photos" under "Ambient Mode" in the Google Home app on my iPhone, I may get the photos I want mixed in with the Google pictures, but then my photos disappear after a while and I am stuck with only Google's photos in my Ambient mode slideshow.

I would love to be able to freeze it to one picture that I pick, or have it alternate between a couple of photos. Also, is it possible to have ambient mode be a repeating video that I pick? Thank you!

Hello FiguringItOut,

Thanks for reaching out. For the ambient mode feature, you can only choose whether it's Google Photos, Art gallery, and Experimental. We can't mix Google Photos to either Art Gallery or Experimental. Also, using the videos isn't supported for the ambient mode feature. To learn more about the ambient mode feature, please check out this support website article

Thanks,

Jennifer

I am trying to completely get rid of Art gallery and Experimental. All I want is one of my photos to display that I have uploaded in Google photos. Is this possible?

Hey there,

I'm afraid that's not possible. To use your Google Photos for the ambient mode feature, you need to have more photos on it or choose an album to show it on your TV screen. You can follow the steps listed in the support website article I've shared above.

Thanks,

Jennifer
