Any way to use Google assistant to connect to Bluetooth earphones?

I have Bluetooth earphones paired with my Chromecast, and sometimes they auto-connect but I also use the same earphones on my phone. Whenever I want to switch to using them on the Chromecast, I have to manually go into the remotes and accessories settings options to connect to a paired device. It would be great if I could connect to them with a voice command or something.
