I am having an ongoing issue with chromecast audio when casting from HP laptop to the tvs in my house. I use to be able to leave the Google Chrome browser with the video on running in the background on my computer but now i can't with out the audio being distorted. I like to chrome cast things to the TV well using my laptop to do other work so I will open Google Chrome leave it running and then open Firefox or Word or another application over top and the audio gets all distorted. It is not an HP issue I didn't change anything on my laptop and someone else is having this issue that also never changed anything on their HP. This has been happening since I updated to windows 11 it's the only change

I apologize for the late response, thank you for being patient! I'm also sorry to hear that your Chromecast Audio is running into audio issues, I can imagine this makes for a terrible listening experience, so I'd be happy to help you out. The first thing I would do it make sure your Google Chrome is up-to-date. Then, I would try other websites, such as YouTube, to see if the problem persists across websites. Finally, try casting from Google Canary to also isolate the issue to either the browser, or the laptop.
