Hi,
I have black/grey stains on screen sometime... fix on screen. It's not permanent, sometime the image look fine, sometime not. I use the same app directly on my TV (not using the Chromecast) and the image look fine with no black stain. It seems to be a problem with the chromecast. i'm thinking about return it to store, but i was just wandering if it's a common issue.
Thanks!

Hi folks,
Thanks for reaching out — let’s see what’s going on. A few questions: what Chromecast device are we working on? When did it begin? Also, what steps have you tried so far? Give the steps below a try and let me know how it goes:

Hi! I’m using Google Chromecast with Google TV (4K). It begin shortly after the installation using HDMI-1 on a Vizio D40FM-K09. I wasn’t able to reproduce on another TV (Samsung). I change the HDMI port on the Vizio and it still showing stains after an hour of utilisations. Rebooting TV and WiFi didn’t resolve. I will try to reset the chromecast. Thanks!

Hey there SCote,
I'm just checking up on this thread; were you able to reset the Chromecast to see if those stains were removed?
Best regards,

hi! Stains seems to be gone… since I move the TV in other location… far away from a ground fault outlet! Make sense?

Hey SCote,
That's good to hear, hopefully it stays gone! In that case, do you have any other questions we can address?

Hi! Stains are back… it’s on and off. I have a picture showing them clearly.

Hiya SCote,
That is no good to hear. Perhaps try using a different HDMI cord, as well as a different HDMI port? It's a possibility one of those two is experiencing a hardware issue. If not, then at least we'll be able to isolate the issue.
Best regards,
Jeran

Hello! The Chromecast is connected direct on the hdmi port… and I already change the port… however I was not able to reproduce the problem when I use the Chromecast on my other TV. I believe the problems is the TV, Vizio D40f-J09… sad.

Hello SCote,
Shoot, I am sorry to hear that. Perhaps try checking for any firmware updates for your Vizio TV? If that doesn't help, factory resetting may help resolve some issues in this case.
I look forward to hearing from you again.
Best regards,
Jeran
