When watching a film either on Netflix or Google TV every few minutes there will be a small white flicker of artefact at the top of the screen in the black bar. It flashes briefly, smaller than a thumbnail.
I am assuming this is a Chromecast rather than app issue. It may also be my TV (LG BX)
The issue only started in the past month or so.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Andy

Two settings resolved the issue -
Setting the CC to 50Hz rather than 60Hz. It would not hold this setting upon restart so this wasn't a fix.
Disabling "Ultra HD Deep Colour" on my LG TV setting. I'm not familiar enough with this feature to understand the effects however it seems to make no noticeable difference to image quality and the flickering has stopped.

Hi AndyHibbs,
Thanks for posting. Let's sort this out.
Quick question — is this only happening in one app? Please try to turn off your TV completely and reboot your Chromecast. Plugging the Chromecast to a different HDMI port on the TV and testing on a different TV (If applicable) might also help.
Keep me posted.
Thanks,
Jennifer

Hi,
It happens in Netflix and Google TV.
I've rebooted and tried a different HDMI to no effect.
I think it might only be with 4k content but it doesn't happen on Prime Video 4k stuff.
Mystery.

Update - It doesn't happen if I play content on the TV's apps, it only happens on Chromecast.

Hi there,
Thanks for getting back to us. Please try to uninstall and reinstall Netflix to your Chromecast with Google TV then observe the behavior. Resetting your Chromecast with Google TV might also help.
Thanks,
Jennifer

I have performed a factory reset and have even tried a new CC device but still the problem exists.
The same pixel occasionally flashes white, sometimes other pixels along the top also flash white.
It only happens within the Android TV system or using an app, when I did the factory wipe as I was setting up the device I did not experience the issue.
This has convinced me it is a software problem, I have raised an official ticket with Google.
