Can't Connect to my chromecast for setup

I am trying to set up my chromecast because i moved.

  1. I have reset it (3 times, all new chromecast numbers). my screen shows welcome, to get started
  2. I go to google home and set up new device. it finds my chromecast but still has the old name "Living Room TV"
  3. I try to set it up and then it can't connect to my chromecast. 
  4. the new name shows up as an available wifi option so i know i am in range (inches away from it with my phone)

Any help would be love. I feel like my google home needs to reset how it's looking at the chromecast

Hi folks,

 

Thanks for reaching out and for doing some steps beforehand — these are of great help! To cover all the bases, could you please manually connect to the Chromecast SSID? Here's how: Go to the phone Settings > Open Wi-Fi and connect to the Chromecast SSID (Example: Chromecast1234, Living Room TV, Bedroom TV, etc.) > Go to the Google Home app and try to set up again.
