Can’t communicate to chromecast from iPhone

fdippery

I’ve restarted my whole chromecast, updated my phone, updated my apps, made sure my local network access is on, and I still receive this message:

bedroom tv may be set up, but we could not communicate with it from your iPhone. Make sure that you have enabled local network access in your privacy settings and try again.

i don’t know how else to solve this issue. My phone used to connect no problem, I’ve used it within the last 2 weeks to cast, and then the other day my chromecast stopped popping up as a connection option. Once I reset it, I solved that problem, but then I came across my iPhone or connecting now.

  1. On your iOS device’s home screen (iOS 14 or later), tap Settings
  2. Tap Privacy Ashepherdson_0-1634860931423.png

Local Network. You’ll find a list of apps.
  3. Turn on Local Network Access for the app(s) you would like to allow access to your network. This will allow permissions for your device to discover Cast-enabled devices.

If this does not work, be sure to restart both your phone and your wifi router.
