Can't establish a Wifi Connection to my chromecast

"I’ve restarted my whole chromecast, updated my phone, updated my apps, made sure my local network access is on, and I still receive this message:

bedroom tv may be set up, but we could not communicate with it from your iPhone. Make sure that you have enabled local network access in your privacy settings and try again.

i don’t know how else to solve this issue. My phone used to connect no problem, I’ve used it within the last 2 weeks to cast, and then the other day my chromecast stopped popping up as a connection option. Once I reset it, I solved that problem, but then I came across my iPhone or connecting now."

I saw this post and solution because i was having the same issue, but when I checked location services it was already on. I am still having the problem however. I can't access the router because I live in a college dorm. Any tips?

Hi oyrcgnik.

Thanks for visiting the Community.

Since this thread hasn't had activity in a while, we're going to close it to keep content fresh.

We hope you were able to get the help you need but if you're still having trouble, please manually connect to the Chromecast SSID. Here's how: Go to the phone’s Settings > Open WiFi and connect to the Chromecast SSID (Example: Chromecast1234, Living Room TV, Bedroom TV, etc.) > Go to the Google Home app and try to set up again. You may also check this support website article for additional troubleshooting steps.

Note: If you're using a dorm network, you may coordinate with the IT personnel in your area to check some settings in the router.

If the issue persists, feel free to submit another post, and provide as many details as possible so that others can lend a hand.

Hope this helps!

Thanks,

Jennifer
