Cannot Setup Remote buttons

Trying to add my tv so I can setup the Chromecast remote buttons to change volume power and inputs.  When I choose Settings>Remotes and Accessories>Setup Remote Buttons I am not brought to the next screen.  I just see a constantly rotating icon indicating possibly waiting/loading.  Otherwise have loaded all my apps and everything else functions.

I chatted with Google.  They had me do a factory reset.  This time the setup detected my TV and the Chromecast remote now controls my tv's volume input and power controls.  Problem resolved.  Excellent support!  Only problem- I need to load all my apps and login credentials☹️ but now everything works!
