Cant get sign in code for youtube app on Chrome Cast 4k Ultra

I can cast videos from my phone to the chrome cast without problems. The main problem is that I get YouTube ads and I have YouTube premium. I thought the issue that is causing this is likely because my account is not sign in. When i click the sign in the top left it will show the yt.be/activate and the code just shows loading constantly. I have attempted to reboot the device and the issue still persists. Anyone have a solution do this?

Are you signed into the Chromecast using that account already?

Don't try signing in directly from the app but try the Chromecast settings login first, then open the app.

That is actually applicable for Chromecast with Google TV. But for Chromecast Ultra or older versions, the login may need to be done in the Google Home App where services need to be linked.

I suggest you do a full clean-up by performing a factory reset, then setting it up by following this link: Set up your Chromecast device (3rd gen or older). Just choose if you’ll set it up using an Android device or an iOS device. Make sure that you log in with your account in the Google Home App.
