Casting from Chrome to Google TV

I used my Google TV with built-in Chromecast to cast tabs as well as the full screen from my web browser to my TV.

The tab casting still works properly but the screen casting stopped showing the image on the TV now. Sound still works fine but the screen remains black. Would love some advice.

Hi Mazzl,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. Based on your description, it seems that the built-in Chromecast is working as intended. The audio comes in, so it knows it’s doing its job, and the fact that the video comes in when you cast the tab confirms it. Let’s try this approach: cast the desktop while you’re on the YouTube website. If it works, then switch the website to where you experienced the issue. There are websites that have filtering features that recognize if the content is being rebroadcast outside its intended platform, which then triggers the blackout. I suggest you visit our friends at the Google Chrome Help Community. It’s possible that some users already have a detailed answer to this. It’s also important that all your device’s software and/or firmware is up-to-date (Chromecast, casting source, Chrome browser, etc.).

Let us know if you still have questions about Chromecast.

Thanks,

Kimy
