I have Airtel xtream box which comes with inbuilt chrome cast. I connected with it with my android mobile's own hotspot and could successfully cast Hotstar and Sony Liv. However video players like MX player and UPlayer can not be casted. Those are getting connected but casting stops as soon as it starts. What is the solution?

For applications that cannot cast directly, you can use screen mirroring feature.

What does your Airtel Xtreme box have to do with Google Chromecast with Google TV?
They can work independently, connected to separate HDMI inputs on the TV.
For applications where cast functionality is not enabled, use the screen mirroring feature.

My TV is smart TV but not android TV. But Airtel xtream box is android. So I am chromecasting to xtream box which has built-in chromecast. This box shows chromecasted videos to TV.
The application I used is chromecast enabled and those are getting connected but on the TV I can see the video name for a second like it is beginning the streaming but it stops after that. No problem with Hotstar or Sony Liv.

First, force stop the applications in question and then try to cast again.
Second, clear the cache for the applications in question and try to cast again.

Clearing cache didn't solve the problem. Also note that one of them was a freshly installed app. So I don't think clear cache/reboot/reinstall kind of things will work. I also updated all the available apps on the receiver side. Is there any setting from the mobile device that I am missing?
