Chromecast 2nd gen not connecting to wifi

I have had my chromecast for years and it worked great but I have recently moved house and can not get it to connect to the WiFi.  it connects to my phone and i see the code on the TV but it will not connect to my wifi although i have a nest hub and mini already set up and working.

I have tried factory reset, turning my mobile data off, restarting the router and phones but it is still not working. Getting really frustrated now, please help

Hey there adambellew,

I apologize for the late response on this thread, and thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that connection issue? If not, I'd be happy to help you get this figured out, as these networking issues can be tricky to deal with. First thing, go ahead and check out and follow the steps in this article. Also, if you are connecting to a 5GHz network, make sure the Wi-Fi channel range is set to a range of 36-48.

Hi jeran, thank you for getting back to me. I have just tried connecting again after following all of the steps in the article but still not connecting to the WiFi. Is there anything else I can try? Thank you

Hey there adambellew,

 

No problem at all! We can try a few more things. Just to double-check, what color is the LED light on the Chromecast device? For example, if the light is solid white, the Chromecast is connected to the network and is ready to begin casting content or is already casting content.
