Chromecast automatically connects

Hey, million dollar company. I know you have a lot of things to do but fix this, but this is so annoying. My pc automatically casts to some device for no reason, don't you think that's a big breach of privacy? Would try and fix this pronto. If it helps, I am running windows 10, newest chrome version to this date, and the device that keeps getting automatically connecting to is something like "mi tv now" but I'm not even sure.

Hi there,

Welcome, @fixyourstuff. Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. A few questions: what Chromecast device do you have connected to your TV? Is your Chromecast device completely setup and working? Can you manually cast any cast-enabled app from your smartphone or tablet? And can you manually cast from the Chrome browser on your computer? The reason for asking is to ensure that your Chromecast device is working as it should be.

Do you also have a Mi TV (Xiaomi Android TV) or a Mi TV stick (a competitor device similar to Chromecast) that has the Mi TV now? Your computer may have an application that can detect a Mi device within the network. Something may be triggering this. You may need to reach out to Xiaomi for further help.

Neither the Chromecast device nor the Chrome browser have this autocasting feature. I hope this answers your questions. Let us know if you still have other concerns about your Chromecast device.

Thanks,

Kimy
