Chromecast for Google has "lost" my Youtube TV library

EG-17

Today, I noticed that while trying to access my YouTube TV's library via my TV's Chromecast for Google TV, my library only shows my watchlist, and below that it shows "manage your purchased recordings."
It is the same for all of our TVs with the Chromecast for Google TV attached to it.
Previously, the library's menu would show "most watched", "scheduled recordings", "recordings and purchases", "resume watching", "shows" "add to your membership" and "add to your library"
The library displays correctly in both my PC's web browser and within the YouTube TV app. The Apps Only mode is not enabled
As per another post's instructions, I re-synced my Google account by removing my account and adding it back. Yes, that was somewhat painful. When I finished with the factory reset, nothing had changed.

Currently, the only way for me to access my DVR library from a TV is by using the YouTube TV app. I cannot access my YTTV library from the top of the screen, again because the only thing there is my "watchlist" which does not show items in my library.
I spoke with someone from YouTube TV about this and we determined that since I can access my library via both a web browser and the YTTV app, the issue is stemming from my Chromecast for Google TV dongles.

All the Chromecasts are fully updated. This is the information I have on one of the dongle's systems.
Android TV OS version 12
Android TV OS security patch level April 01, 2023
Android TV OS build STTE.230319.008.H1.10319030
Kernel version 4.9.269 #1 Mar 28, 2023

I also realize that you are updating some of the navigation on the main screen. This really should have no effect on the DVR/Library link.

To have to change from app-to-app-to-live is not user-friendly at all. I would like to be able to access my library from the native screen instead of playing ''whack-a-mole" by jumping between multiple screens and apps and I would appreciate some help on fixing this. The factory resets are getting old.

Hi EG-17,

Thanks for posting and for being a step ahead of us. Are you experiencing similar issues with other apps? If not, then this must be isolated to the YouTube TV app. I understand that it may be working well with other platforms (web browser, mobile app, innate smart TV app, etc.), but the app version for Google TV may have changed. Give our friends at the YouTube Help Community a shout. There might be helpful threads or other subscribers that have encountered this and may have shared answers and solutions. Let us know if you have other questions.

Thanks,

Kimy

Hi Kimy,

Actually, the app is the only way I can view my library on YTTV. I can see my library on my phone, via the YTTV webpage, and for my TV, the YTTV app.  So, the YTTV app, as well as all apps, are working correctly.

However, I cannot access my library via the CCforGTV on my TV. All I have on the heading is "For you, Live, Apps, Library". On the library tab it only shows my "watchlist" and below that is "manage purchases and rentals".
This is happening with all of our TVs(*) with the CCforGTV dongle attached.

Previously, my library's contents would populate when I clicked on the library tab. Now, when using my TV, the only way I can access my library's contents is to open the YTTV app
This is an issue because all my other apps were available from my main screen soI could change much more easily.
Currently, I would have to close my YTTV app just to get to the main screen and then I would be able to open a different app (like MLB, AppleTV, Netflix, etc.).

While doing my own troubleshooting, I noted the OS build was listed as "H1". Since this all occurred sometime this week, could there be an issue with the resolution of the videos stored in my YTTV DVR's library? Although my (*)TVs are not ancient, they do not have 4k resolution. I think they are all set at 1080p @ 60Hz.
It seems to me the OS build designation of "R1" was working just fine for me in the past and as I said, this all changed within this last week. This may just be a stab in the dark.

Any thoughts you may have about what might be going on would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! Edie

Thank you again, Kimy.

I went (back) over there and saw the announcement: "Posting in this forum has been disabled" so I went through a multitude of posts that mostly were about YouTube, not YoutubeTV. I did notice a few posts similar to my issue but those were dated 2022. I will attempt to have support contact me by email.. Thank you for your help, Edie

Hi again, Kimy

I had been communicating with the Chromecast support team and for an unknown reason library tab interface returned to its normal appearance. I don't know how or why it is fixed but the team says they will keep the information, should someone else have the same situation.. So, can you please close this thread?

Thank you again! Edie

It seems like there's a frustrating issue with Chromecast for Google TV not displaying the YouTube TV library correctly, and it's impacting multiple TVs. Despite trying to re-sync the Google account and even resorting to a factory reset, the problem persists. Interestingly, the library displays fine on web browsers and the YouTube TV app. It might be worth exploring if YouTube Vanced for Google TV, if used, could be a factor in this issue, as it seems limited to the Chromecast for Google TV dongles. Troubleshooting this anomaly could offer a smoother TV viewing experience.
