Chromecast from IPad using Google Home

I cast from my android phone to my projector using chromecast.

However I got an IPad that I also want to be able to cast the screen to my projector but it doesnt work using Google Home app. The chromecast device does show up in the app but it does not give me the option to cast. Why is that? 

The only thing way I found to work is if I pay for a 3rd party app. Wondering if that is really the only option.

Hi ehalfin,

Apple do not allow this feature, they want you to use their 'AirPlay' protocol. You can use cast enabled apps with apple devices and Google Chromecasts.
