Chromecast not available

Help! I got new wifi, have had to go through everything suggested to connect my chromecast again, including factory reset, called bt and went through all options with them too. Finally same WiFi name etc has allowed it to connect and set up again successfully, but now it's saying "TV not available" I can see the chromecast is connected to my WiFi, so is my mobile. I have tried turning everything off and on etc, but I've already done a factory reset (a few times now, with Google support advice) and now it's finally connected to my WiFi, but not showing up on my phone... What can I do? I've been sat on Google chromecast support chat waiting for an hour now, so called "24/7 support" is actually a joke, I've been trying to sort this out for days. I've literally only had it a few months So frustrating! Please help. Thanks.

OK, so after doing literally everything suggested, by tech support, and the whole Internet, I found a fix... Its so stupid, but I changed my new WiFi name and password to the same as my old one, for some reason this has somehow worked. Even though I factory reset it etc, this is what worked in the end lol. Literally no thanks to Google support, but it's fixed now! Just hope I never have to change my password 🤦‍♀️how stupid.

Hi folks,

Pixie1201, glad to hear that this has been sorted out and thanks for sharing the steps that helped you to resolve the issue.

Alleykat7, how's it going? Still need help with this? If yes, you may try the suggested steps shared by Pixie1201. If the same issue persists, check the Wi-Fi settings of the phone and connect directly to the Chromecast's temporary hotspot, Chromecast XXXX, or manually look for the previous name that has been used for the Chromecast device like Living Room TV or Bedroom TV, and then proceed with the normal setup.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

Jennifer
