Chromecast plugged into AV receiver goes black after updates

I have the 4k Chromecast.  It is plugged into a AV receiver, then the receiver is plugged into my TV via HDMI.  After updates often the Chromecast shows a black screen.  I fix this by unplugging the TV, then the Chromecast power, then unplugging the HDMI on the Chromecast from the receiver.  After plugging back the TV power, then the Chromecast power and finally plugging in the HDMI of the Chromecast into the receiver, the problem is fixed.  I just don't want to do this procedure every time there is an update.  Is there something in the settings that I can do to prevent this?

Hi pcjelly,

Thanks for posting and for being a step ahead of us. We’re sorry for the trouble, and this is not the experience that we wanted you to have. Based on your description, this happens during updates. Does this mean you encounter this issue every time a newer version of the Android TV OS build comes up (STTE.230915.005.S1.10942527, STTK.230808.004, STTL.231114.004, etc.)? And if so, then does that mean this solution of yours will take place again after a month or two when a new update and/or Android TV OS build is released? The troubleshooting steps that you try cover both devices (TV and Chromecast), so we can’t really isolate them. If you can confirm that rebooting just one device alone (TV or Chromecast) is not enough to fix it, then it would make sense. We would also want to know the brand and model of your TV and AV receiver since the next encounter to replicate it would happen on the next update.

We look forward to your response.

Thanks,

Kimy
