Additional information.  Various troubleshooter information suggests a factory reset of the chromecast device..  Part of the advice is 

  1. Open the Google Home app KenWR_0-1681964073156.png.
  2. Touch and hold your device's tile.  What does "device's tile" mean?

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. If factory reset can’t be done from the Google Home app, try to do it directly from the Chromecast device.
