When asking Google nest to play videos on YouTube, it says to select an option from the tv. There's nothing on the TV.

Hi BambinoFan,
Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. What is the specific command that you give? When you try a command like “Hey Google! Play Lady by Lionel Richie on YouTube on bedroom TV", how does it go? Were you able to manually cast apps like Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, Prime Video, etc. on your smartphone to your Chromecast Ultra? Kindly give us more details so we’ll know what’s going on and we can help.
We look forward to your response.
Thanks,
Kimy

Hi Kimy thanks for your reply.
I say "play videos of whales on bedroom tv."
Response "got it, here are some options, showing on bedroom tv."
There are no options displayed on my chromecast ultra connected to bedroom tv.
However, if I were to say option 1, blindly, youtube would open and proceed to show whatever option 1 was.

Hello BambinoFan,
Thanks for the reply. This seems to be related to this old thread: Chromecast Ultra stopped showing the options menu for Youtube, which you participated in. This has been answered in that thread, but I have a more detailed explanation of the situation that I shared here in this thread: @Kimy Chromcast issue. I hope this brings clarity to the long-standing confusion that the Chromecast Ultra is the cause of this.
Let us know if you still have concerns with your Chromecast device.
Regards,
Kimy

I see that you're redirecting me to the post that has been "marked" as answered, but has not been resolved as the dozens of users in that thread have indicated. I also note that in your explanation, that we should go to another party to resolve this. This was a working function, an update with chromecast happened, this function stopped working. Who should we go to to resolve this if not your team?

Hi BambinoFan,
We hear you. It’s easy to think that it’s the Chromecast Ultra that caused this issue, especially if it was working prior to the update. The feature of concern here is about Google Assistant, a feature that the Chromecast Ultra and older versions don’t have. The program that translates a human’s voice command to casting is the only feature that the Chromecast Ultra understands. It’s possible that there are users who have already answered this or shared a workaround in the Google Nest Community—Speakers and Display. Why don’t you try posting there? You can get back here with us anytime if you have questions.
Sincerely,
Kimy
