Chromecast with Google TV (4K) when casting to TV from Android Phone

Chromecast team,

Question: When watching TV using Chromecast with Google TV (4K), when I use my Android Pixel 6 to cast something from my phone to the TV and then I disconnect, the Chromecast returns to the main menu. I use my PC to cast to my TV, and when I disconnect, it goes back to the show that I was watching. I mean, the show is paused, but it is better than going to the main menu and then looking for the TV show that you were watching.

Is there a workaround to fix this issue?

Welcome to the Chromecast Community Forum! I've never noticed this interaction before, and I'm not sure which of the two outcomes is the intended one. It seems like taking you back to the Home screen would actually be the intended outcomes, so if you have the time, would you be able to submit feedback via Google TV to let Google know? Google takes all feedback seriously, and the more feedback they receive regarding a specific feature, the more likely they are to prioritize it.
