Chromecast with Google TV 4k - No Signal! after system update (Oct 22)

Just noticed a new system update this morning.  Seemed to not  work so well and had to do a factory reset.

Couldn't see anything through the soundbar HDMI but could hear the setup beeping prompt. Have had to plug it into a standard HDMI port in the TV.

Pain to reinstall everything now and still not sure if it's done the update after all that.

More of a warning I suppose but was worried I'd bricked it.

After update to Android 12 it won't send a signal to my Samsung TV now, did a reset and still no signal to TV. So definitely an issue with certain tv or devices.

Hey there foolio,

I'm just following up on this issue, were you able to resolve it? If not, I would double-check if there were any more updates to the Chromecast, as well as change the HDMI port or even cable, such a G-rig did, to see if the helps.

Let me know if you had any questions!

Best regards,

Jeran

I tried a new HDMI cable and it was the same issue but tried another HDMI port and it worked. Figured out the issue after resetting the Chromecast. Seems to be when it's on the e-arc port and setting up the tv controls on the Chromecast it stops working. Switching to another HDMI port works. So it's an issue with the update and the tv controls not working together.

Agree, something wrong with the update and recommended others not doing it.

It's all a bit odd, ended up having to reset it, could hear the setup sound, but no picture to the soundbar. Plugged it directly into the tv for the setup.  Still didn't work so replaced the HDMI cable and worked. Bit of a coincidence if the HDMI cable failed m
