Chromecast with Google TV lacking dynamic refresh rate

I just received my new Chromecast with Google TV and after setting it up, one of the first things I noticed was very noticable stuttering ('judder') in some of my media applications.

By default, the Chromecast is setup to output 4k resolution at 60 Hz, but some of the content I watch is in 50 Hz or in 24 Hz. The lack of dynamic refresh rate forces me to manually having to switch the refresh rate every time I want to watch a video from a different source with a different refresh rate.

Are there any plans on updating this any time soon? I have to say I'm actually really surprised that a device purely designed for media playback lacks this feature.

I apologize about the late response, thank you for being patient! You are correct, at this point in time, the Chromecast with Google TV does not have a dynamic refresh rate. I know this is something that people do want, as I do myself. I would recommend that you submit feedback via Google TV to let Google know that this is something we would like to see in the future.

It's a real bummer, was really excited for this product but I have found myself not using it at all after the day I received it. Media is literally unwatchable without constantly switching between the refresh rates for different apps. The judder is insane!

No problem at all, I wish I could have done more for you. I also experience these frame-rate issues on my own devices, and they can be pretty frustrating! I know for a fact the Chromecast engineering team is aware of this issue, but every bit of feedback definitely helps.
