Chromecast with Google TV "continue watching" not accurate

Hi,

 

I have just purchased Chromecast with Google TV 4k and I have issues with some of the features.

"Continue watching" only updates when I stream movies from the smartphone app (If I stream through Chromecast or through my smart tv it does not).

The scenarios to replicate the issue:

- launch a new tv series from the app (not through Chromecast) watch few minutes or one episode.

- open Chromecast and this movie/tv series is under "Continue watching" 

- launch the movie/tv series from chromecast and continue.

- return home (to chromecast) - it still shows the old "continue watching "

The same happens if you open Netflix through Chromecast and start watching new tv series (the "continue watching" section is not updated.

What's the point of this feature if it only works for shows/movies launched through the smartphone app?

Its a nice idea but it does not work?

I didn't test with other streaming platforms but I can't see any shows I have started on Prime before getting the Chromecast.

 

Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Otherwise its a pointless feature...

 

Other issue is that I can not remove suggestions for TV shows and movies from services I have no subscription for.

There is an option to remove these from "For you" section but not from the others...

Update, streaming shows from the native prime video app on my smart tv does not update the "Continue watching" neither...

Just started watching a new show on Prime and it does not show up in Chromecast's Continue watching...

If I open the show through Chromecast it doesn't end up in the continue watching section neither...

A bit pointless feature it this does not work... I hoped it Chromecast would allow me to integrate multiple streaming services into one but it does not work as I hoped...

Hey there Tymoniasty,

I apologize for the late response, thank you for being patient! This is a pretty strange interaction, so I'd be happy to help you look into this. If you don't mind, would you go to your "Continue watching" section, and hold the Select button on your remote, and remove the shows from that section? Afterwards, launch the app on the Chromecast device itself, then watch a show, and see if it populates the "Continue watching" section properly. From there, try casting the show from your phone, and see if the problem still persists.

nah - I think this sorted itself out - I can see more 'continue watching' now than before...
