Sir,

I want to know whether the firmware of chromecast 2 which im using right now will be updatable or not.

Because everytime when using chromecast 2 needs a wifi router or another phone like as router.

And i want to use chromecast 2 with my only phone and the same data of my phone which i have. I don't want to use another phone for connecting as a wifi router or router.

I think, now u can understand that what i want to say.

So pls solve this issue or pls give me a suggestion.
I want to use of chromecast 2 as amazon fir stick or mi fire stick or like ur chromecast 4 which is coming,  which needs only connect to fire stick and connect by any single smartphone.  Not requirement of any another smartphone.

Thanx
Regards,

Google is still updating older Chromecast devices.  They haven't said when they will stop doing this so we just don't know.

As for the the changes you are hoping for, I would doubt that Google would do that anytime soon.  That's a huge change to how they expect a Chromecast device to be used.

The only possibility would be if you used a Chromecast with Google TV (the oblong device that comes with a remote).  You can do MOST (but not all) things using the remote and you don't need a second phone to control it.  However, not all apps can be installed on that model yet and it has limited memory.  I still find myself having to use my phone at times and you may still need that second phone to do the initial setup steps.
