Urgently trying to set up chromecast , want to use iPhone to hotspot so I can mirror. Can’t get through set up as it’s looking for wifi that I don’t have.
Although unsupported by Google, you can use a phone or tablet as a Wifi hotspot. However, this will then use your mobile data plan, which could be expensive for you depending on the data plan you have with your carrier. Note you will need 2 devices to set this up.
Turn on the Wifi hotspot feature on a phone or tablet. If you're not sure how to do this, refer to the manufacturer's support website.
Connect a second phone or tablet to that Wifi hotspot.
You can then use that second phone or tablet to setup your Google Home and connect it to the Wifi hotspot on the first phone or tablet.
Thanks for tips but my friend and i had tried all this already with no lucky, even watched you tube tips to try to connect to no avail. Always managed to get my friends phone to connect but not mine.... Both of us stumped.

No sorry this was no help as I couldn't connect to phone either directly using hotspot or via a second device (my iPad), I think I'll return the device as it is of no use to me.
