Device was set up by another user, cannot proceed

I changed my internet router and was setting up all my wireless devices to work with it. I could not get my Chromecast to function, so I opened Google Home and deleted the old Chromecast profile and tried running setup again. I was met with the message in the title, found these forums and looked for a solution. It appears that I cannot perform a factory reset of the device as its profile no longer exists in Google Home.

Help?

Hi @Vasco

You do a factory reset by using the button on the Chromecast itself. 😊

Check THIS link for more information.

The button was so small I didn't notice it until I removed the Chromecast dongle from the TV. Thanks.

Hi @Vasco

It is well hidden! 😉
Glad you found it to get your Chromecast up and running again. 🤗
