Equalizer missing in Chromecast settings

Linkowich
Community Member

According to the Google help document, to adjust bass & treble on the Chromecast you go to Settings -> Audio -> Equalizer. But I don't have an equalizer option in my settings. There is only "Groups", "Group delay correction" and "Surround sound". What could be the issue?

I am with you here. I am missing these settings too and I would really like to have them to tune my sound.

Why aren't they available anymore?

Samesies. The audio adjustment options native to my projector are insufficient to the cause, clunky, and also occupy THE ENTIRE SCREEN which is obviously less than desirable.

Same here. Audio equalizer missing. Zero audio controls. WTF?

Hey there Linkowich,

I apologize about the late response, thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that radio issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, as I can imagine this issue is pretty confusing. Let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:

  • When did this issue start happening?
  • What version of the Google Home app are you using?
  • What type of Chromecast do you have?
  • What is the firmware version of the Chromecast?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?

I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!

Best regards,
Jeran

Weird, I replied to this but it seems to have gone missing 🤔
Let's try again.

- I noticed the issue some time before my original post, ‎01-13-2022.
- My Google Home app is version 2.50.1.8
- My Chomecast is gen 3
- Chromecast firmware is 1.56.291998
- I have restarted app and Chromecast. I have reset settings on Chromecast and readded it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled app, and tried with another Android device.

(My phone is Samsung Galaxy S10 running Android 12)

Best regards,
Anders

Same issue.  Is Google not saying anything about this?

Same here - options are missing. What the heck, Google? Videos sound like a tin can with no bass.

It is now one year later, and this issue remains, and neither solution nor explanation has been given. Please, Google.
