Factory Reset doesn't work

Hi!

We've just moved and I'm trying to set up our chromecast Ultra in our new home. I was not the one who set it up last time so naturally I got the "please do a factory reset" message. I have now done a manual factory reset three times(holding the button 25sec till white, the resetting message on screen) but I still get the same message when I try to set it up again. I have turned both the cc and the TV on and off, tried a different hdmi, nothing seems to work. Please help.

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. Here’s how to do the factory reset on a Chromecast Ultra. If you look at the Chromecast device, there's a very small button at the side, while on the other side is a blinking light. Press and hold the button down for 25 seconds or until the factory reset screen is on the TV. When you see a message that says "Restarting" or "Performing factory reset," then release the button. It usually takes 3 to 4 minutes for the clean-up to be complete. Take this time to delete and then reinstall the Google Home app. When the TV screen shows it's ready for setup and the Google Home app is already reinstalled, proceed with the setup.

 

If it persists after trying this, try it on another TV and use a different phone for setup.
