First Gen Chromecast Setup

Is it in any way possible anymore to re setup a first gen Chromecast? The device was working perfectly fine but I changed wireless networks and now it will come up on tv but can’t be found in the google home app. 
tried connecting to its hotspot, still can’t find 

did factory reset a couple times, same issue

Google finally announced they are not supporting that model in April 2023.   However, they did not say that it would stop working.  Only that you wouldn't get any more updates and may "notice a degradation in performance."

It sounds like you have done all of the standard things that we would suggest.

At this point, you might want to seriously consider that you have got MORE than your money's worth out of that since it came out 10 years ago and hasn't been sold since 2015.

The newer models have a lot of great features, improved processing hardware, stronger wifi radios, and are designed so they don't put as much stress on the HDMI port.

If you're still experiencing issues after trying all those steps, it's probably the end of the road I'm afraid.
