Google tvs tuck on G screen at bootup

schmegeggin

Google tv hung last night with blank screen so unplugged it and when I plugged it back in, it is just stuck at the coloured G screen on bootup. I have tried leaving it unplugged for a few hours and plugging in again but same result. I have left the device on the G screen overnight and doesn't change. Tried resetting by keeping button pressed on device for over a minute with no change. Any advice to rescue it from recycling  centre? Thanks

Hi schmegeggin,

Thanks for reaching out and for doing some steps beforehand — these are of great help! To cover all the bases, could you please reboot your Wi-Fi router and try to plug in the Chromecast into a different HDMI port on your TV? Also, plugging it on a different TV screen might also help.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

Jennifer

Hey there schmegeggin,

Thank you for filling out that form! You should be receiving an e-mail from Chromecast support, so feel free to continue the conversation over there. Unless you have any more questions for us on the forums, I'll go ahead and lock the thread in 24 hours.

Best regards,
