How to activate Chromecast

I believe it is Gen 2.

bought off Amazon in feb 2022, just now unboxing it and setting it up. Connected to the tv and it says to set up with Google Home. In Google home it says       Chromecast(needs activation)  with a triangle with ! in the middle.

How do I activate it??

Hi @George27 - 

This is what I've done when I had a similar issue when the Chromecast wouldn't automatically connect. At the top left of the Google Home app home screen, tap Add, Set up device then New device.

It already shows the device under "nearby Devices...but says the device Chromcaste needs to be activated...it is Darkened lettering, it cannot be selected. see photoInkedScreenshot_20221002-131128.jpg

Ah, thanks @George27 - what does it say when you click learn more right next to these devices need to be activated before setup?

Apparently, there is a problem with Pixel phones and Chromcast. I was able to get my old phone working well enough to activate the Chromecast. See pic of where the link took me.
