I cannot get Chromecast to work for the life of me

Could someone please help me figure out how to connect the first generation Chromecast with my Wi-Fi I see it on my phone under the Wi-Fi but it will not connect it's saying can I there and no connection and right now I do not have my internet set up cuz I'm in the process of moving and I just want to watch TV I already have Netflix and I'm trying to learn how to jailbreak this thing or something just so I can watch some movies tonight cuz someone please help me I think you so much seriously God bless and I hope it's somebody knows what I can do to set this thing up thank you again

I apologize about the late response, thank you for your patience! Were you able to get that Chromecast connected? If not, I'd be happy to help out, let me just ask you some questions:

• What color is the LED light on the Chromecast?
• Are you trying to connect to a 2.4GHz network or a 5GHz network?
• Have you already performed a factory reset?
