Internet Connection problem

Ghabcha
Community Member

I have a google TV Chromecast here in Syria, I bought it from Lebanon and tried it successfully there, but once I connected it here in Syria, I got the message, cannot reach internet. I reset it to factory settings and no respond, the message is always the same.

Can anyone help me solving this problem?

Is it possible that google doesn't support its products in Syria?

Thanks.

Hi Ghabcha,

Thanks for reaching out. The Chromecast with Google TV isn't officially supported in Syria so its features and functionalities might not work. You may try to connect it to a mobile hotspot and check if it will be successfully connected or check the settings on your router. See the info below:

Enable these settings on your router, if applicable:

  1. Universal Plug and Play (UPnP)/Multicast
  2. Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP)

Disable these settings on your router, if applicable:

  1. AP/client isolation
  2. Virtual Private Networks (VPNs)
  3. Proxy Servers

Note: If you aren’t not familiar with these settings, you may refer to your router manufacturer's documentation or you may contact your internet service provider for help.

Thanks,

Jennifer
