Appears to have been a kayo update on 17/12. Now kayo streams not playing or appearing to buffer.
Kayo was working up to this point.
Casting via phone still works.
Need for cc with GTv update?

Hi Jch12,
Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. Based on your description, it seems to be isolated to the app itself, which is intended for the Google TV platform. The Kayo app on your smartphone seems to work when cast. If all other installed apps on your Chromecast with Google TV are working, then your Chromecast device is working as intended. There must be something on the Kayo app that didn’t seem to work after updating to the newer app version. The adjustment needs to be done on the app. Try to clear the cache and data. You can also try reinstalling the app to see if it helps. If it persists, you may need to report this to Kayo.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks,
Kimy

I have done all the basic stuff like cache and data clearing as well as reinstalling the app.
I have reached out to kayo developers as well.
Yes it could be a problem with this kayo app but it is also a problem with the way ccgtv interacts with the app.
Thanks

Hello Jch12,
Thanks for the reply. What did Kayo Support advise you to do, or what would they do from their end? I’m sorry for the confusion, but there’s no problem with the Chromecast device’s way of interacting with the app because that’s the same with all other apps. And if all other apps are working except for the Kayo app, then something needs to be done on the actual app. It’s the apps that need to adjust to the particular platform (Google TV, Android TV, Apple TV, Fire TV, Roku TV, etc.) and maintain it to a competitive level. These apps wanted to market on that platform, and if the app support was not as efficient, it would hurt their marketability because other apps in competition (YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, etc.) would dominate them. I hope this gives clarity about the responsibility of the device or platform maker versus the app or service provider. Kindly contact them for a clear resolution. Keep us posted.
Regards,
Kimy
