Is there a way to reuire a PIN or password when Chromecast starts up? I have set up a kids account which is restricted, but I don't want my kids to be able to access the main account when they turn on the TV, nor do I want to have to always turn it on then switch it to their account in person. Can you configure it to require an account selection at the start, with the adult account pin/password protected so they can start up and get to their account on their own?

Hi @RustedAlloy
You can set up a profile lock required for the parental account.
So yes if you have set that PIN and the child wants to use the account there is a PIN required.
Just be sure you dont leave your profile logged in and switch back to the child account when you are done using the device. 😉
Click THIS link for more information.
Important: With a profile lock, you have to enter the adult’s Google Account PIN or password to exit a kids profile. This is the same PIN or password that you use for Google Pay and other Google services.

I have that set up but when I turn my TV on it lets me choose which profile I want to use and the adult profile can be chosen without the pin. I want it so the pin is needed.

Hi @RustedAlloy
That option is not available yet so I am afraid I am not able to help you.
The best thing you can do is leave feedback for the Chromecast team to let them know there are requests for this feature. You are able to give feedback by using the Home app. See THIS link for more information.
