Lost remote for Chromecast

Chrisdcruz

We have lost the remote for the Chromecast and also had to change our Wi-Fi as the old modem failed. Now we have a new Wi-Fi but cannot connect to the Chromecast using the phone as the remote (which was our workaround not having the physical remote) because the Chromecast still has the old Wi-Fi internet details stored in the settings. Is there a way around this?

No unfortunately. You'll need a new voice remote to change the Wi-Fi settings. Even if you factory reset the Chromecast, you'll need a new remote to complete setup, as setup requires the voice remote. Replacements are available on the Google Store.
