Shortly after upgrading to Chromecast with Google TV onto our older Samsung 1080p TV, we started noticing that every few minutes, the screen would flicker and there'd be a loud audible pop, sounding like someone clicking the frame of the TV. I tried moving the Chromecast to every HDMI port and the same thing happens, and it also happens with our 32" 1080P Samsung TV, but not our newer LG 4K TV. Neither TV had issues with the older Chromecast we were using on it.
Has anyone else experienced something like this? Does anyone have any possible fixes for this?

Yes. Some updates that could be helpful for those encountering the same issue:
0. I was able to reproduce this problem on all TVs in the household. In my initial testing, I didn't keep the Google TV plugged in long enough for the pop & flicker to appear on the newer LG. My older Chromecast did not experience this issue on any TV, so it appears to be an issue with Chromecast + Google TV.
1. Unplugging and replugging the Chromecast + Google TV did not solve the problem.
2. Reboot did not resolve the problem.
3. Factory reset does appear to have resolved the problem at least with the first 30 minutes of video after the reset. If I encounter a return of the pop & flicker, I will report the issue.

Hi johnjihoonchang,
Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. You could try the additional steps below:
If the issue is reproduced on all HDMI ports and it works fine on your newer TV, you may also contact your TV manufacturer for further help.
Thanks,
Jennifer

Hey there johnjihoonchang,
That is an interesting interaction! Does this issue also persist across different apps? Also, if you could submit feedback about this issue via Google TV, it will help out our engineering team tremendously. You may also look at getting the device replaced, if it is still under it's limited warranty, if you think the individual Chromecast device itself may not be functioning properly.
Best regards,
Jeran

The issue persisted across all apps as well as the home screen. It would randomly flicker to snow and produce a loud pop, similar to the sound of an older CRT turning on. Since doing a factory restart, I heard the flicker and pop exactly once while the Google TV was booting up. 30 minutes of usage after, it seems to be gone, but I'll keep an eye out for it and report back if it returns.
How do I support feedback via Google TV?
If the problem returns I will exercise the warranty.

The pop and flicker returned, so I will have to exercise the warranty. A factory reset is not enough to resolve this issue.

Hey there johnjihoonchang,
No problem at all, here is how to get into contact with Chromecast support to get the process started. You will have the option to either talk with them over the phone, or to talk via online chat. Let me know if you run into any issues during that process!
