My Pixel 8 Pro has problem casting

taiandre

I posted the following message to the Pixel Cells Community and was told to rather post it here. Please advise if I'm at the wrong place!

For the last 2 years I had a Pixel 6 Pro and able to directly cast to the TV all apps (ex.: Netflix, Youtube, Videos and photos in Google Photos) or do mirroring of my cell. My TV is a TCL Smart Android.
Last week I bought a new Pixel 8 Pro. I'm also able to perfectly, fluidly, cast some apps (Netflix, Youtube)... but if I try to cast a video in Google Photos, or do mirroring of my cell, it will show a black screen on the TV, for a few seconds (it tries to communicate to the TV) and then either shut off the casting (and the casting icon on top of my cell goes red), or it will cast but jerking a lot (play a few frames, once in a while). I tried to switch a few times from one cell to the other, and my Pixel 6 Pro is 100% perfectly casting to the TV, but the Pixel 8 Pro cast only a few apps, and jerks others. I checked all updates of both cells and TV, and they're all up-to-date!
Help needed please!!

Hi taiandre,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. Since you mentioned that you’re using a TCL Android TV and not a Chromecast device, I suggest you give our friends at the Android TV Help Community a shout. Hopefully, you get the answers that you’re looking for. If ever you have a Chromecast device, feel free to come back here, and we’re all happy to help you.

Thanks,

Kimy
