No remote option in Google Home app

Where is the remote option? All i get is ‘edit ambient mode’ its a 3rd gen Chromecast and i’m using an iphone 13 pro with the latest version of Google Home. I have multiple android devices including Nvidea Shield and a newer chromecast but physical remotes for those devices.
I’m unable to do anything on the chromecast due to no remote!

The virtual remote is only available for use with the Chromecast with Google TV devices (the oblong ones that come with a physical remote).

You can't use it on any other Chromecast device because they don't have that same kind of on-screen menu system.
