Hi RodrigoCL,

Thanks for reaching out and sorry for the late response. Let's sort this out.

Quick questions: Is the Chromecast near the cast device? What exact message are you getting when setting up your chromecast in the Google Home app?

Try these steps:

  • Adjust the settings of the setup device: Turn on Location Services (Android) and Turn on Bluetooth and Local Network Access (iOS).
  • Uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app.
  • Manually connect to the Chromecast SSID. Here's how: Go to the phone’s Settings > Open Wi-Fi and connect to the Chromecast SSID (Example: Chromecast1234, Living Room TV, Bedroom TV, etc.) > Go to the Google Home app and try to set up again.
  • Try a different setup device.
  • Reboot your router, Chromecast, and mobile phone.
  • Factory reset the Chromecast.

Keep me posted.

Thanks,

Jennifer

No me funcionó.

Hey there,

Thanks for getting back to us. If it does work when changing the channels in your router settings, it means that there's no issue with the Chromecast. I'd suggest you reach out to your router manufacturer or ISP for additional help.

Thanks,

Jennifer

Saludos.

Hey there,

I understand. I'd suggest you try to connect your Chromecast using a mobile hotspot to isolate the issue. If it does connect to the hotspot, please try to reach out to your router manufacturer or ISP for further assistance. This might be an issue with your router.

Best,

Jennifer

Hi RodrigoCL,

Thanks for the update. I just want to inform you that on the 5GHz band, you can only set channels between 36-140, but not more than 140. That's why it was able to connect when you changed to channel 44. You may try to change channels between 1, 6, or 11, for the 2.4GHz.

Thanks,

Jennifer

Hey there RodrigoCL,

I'm sorry to say, but the recommended 5GHz network channel range is anywhere from 36-48. This was a fairly recent change by Google, but it is an intended change. If this is something you would like to see reverted in the future, please submit feedback via the Google Home app. While Google won't respond directly back to you, they take all feedback seriously.

If you had any other questions or concerns, please let us know.

Best regards,

Jeran
