Problems with the Chromecast with GoogleTV 4K

Hello,

so i have had a rough start with the chromecast. Neither Prime Video nor Disney+ seems to work. I bought my chromecast about 2 months ago. At first it worked just fine, but after a couple of days it declined working how it should be. I tried my best to fix it but cant seem to be able to fix it. I tried multiple things including other methods from other threads here in the community. Still it wont work. As streaming is the main purpose of the chromecast, not beeing able to stream properly seems to be a dealbreaker. I hope there is someone that might be able to help me solve my issues. For context: I live in Austria (I hope that that isnt causing problems). I restarted my modem, nothing seems wrong with the chromecast, connection to the Internet is there, tried everything including a factory reset. And streaming with the help of my phone works just fine (but seems pretty unpleasant and made me quit using the chromecast).

Hello Kimy,

I bought a FireTV stick since the problems couldnt be resolved (it really took long for anyone to answer, wouldnt even have thought that somebody would answer anymore). The FireTV stick isnt having any problems at all at streaming any of the streaming providers, that means that the problem was the Chromecast. The problem was/is that the streaming of Disney+ or Prime Video was impossible. When starting a movie it would always throw me out and tell me that it wasnt able to do that and that an error errupted and i have to try it again. I wasnt able to resolve this problem neither ith updates nor with a factory reset. The only possible way to stream was through my phone (sharing in the app like with youtube, i dont know how that function is called). Its a pity that it didnt work and that there was no help whatsoever since i really liked google products. Now i dont really know if i will ever buy something else from google.

Thanks for the reply. We understand you. We didn’t receive reports related to Prime Video or Disney+ similar to your description, and if there are, other users may have joined this thread already. There are users who may have reported certain issues with those apps, like Dolby Atmos or HDR-related ones, but most of them have been resolved. If it’s crashing issues, troubleshooting needs to be done on the affected app(s). Another possibility is network or server-related issues. But then again, we respect your decision. If you decide to use your Chromecast device again and need help, don’t hesitate to post here, and we will be happy to assist you.
