Qmedia booting me out on Google Chromecast

Hi, l have been usuing a chromecast for nearly a year without anyt issue streaming my movies and tv shows fine with the qmedia app. A few days ago it just stopped streaming, l login into the Nas Drive via qmedia app on the chrome and the video station opens up but when you click on a video it boots you back out to the login media screen . Now l have reset my chromecast and relogged in, but still doing it, even thought of updating but everything is updated. So confused . l can steam to my google via my laptop/ipad etc. At first l thought there was some form of issue with steaming but all my apps on my ipad stream from the Nas to the ipad using Video station ...so the issue is with the chromecast . Seems the chrome cast ip address keeps getting failed error in my security on the QTS TS-453Be ..... any suggestion would be wonderful.

Hi, I'm experiencing exactly the same problem. Tried all to fix, but seems to be to be issue with qmedia itself. You mentioned chromecast being blocked - my QNAP security logging doesn't show me that and I have the ip set to pass through qnap firewall. Can you let me know how you found the IP was getting failed error please?

Hi folks,

Thanks for reaching out. It looks like the set up that you're trying to use with your Chromecast device isn't officially supported and not the typical use for Chromecast with Google TV (4K). I'd suggest that you reach out to Qmedia for further assistance.

Regards,

Jennifer

Hi, thank you l have reached out to QNAP and they cannot find a issue as l was using the Qmedia app in the chromecast store for nearly a year and it was working fine. Your saying that device isnts officially support , then why is it on the chromecast 4K to download?

Magically, Qmedia is now once again playing videos as it should have - I hate not knowing why. FYI I have 2 chomecasts and both were with Qmedia failing to play videos for over a week , everything else was fine- now after contacting QNAP myself (no reply) - it is now working. go figure.

Thanks l tried mine after l read your message and its working again...honestly so do l - maybe it was just a conflict of the QNAP software and the google software
